I work on classical German philosophy, Frankfurt School Critical Theory, social and political philosophy, and the history of philosophy. I've written a lot on Habermas, Adorno and Hegel among others, also Kant and Aristotle.
One of my long-standing projects is on Habermas and Rawls, which has just come to fruition in my new book, The Habermas-Rawls Debate.
I'm now working on a cultural and biographical monograph on Adorno's Life and Work with Henry W. Pickford, and brief conceptual and historical study of the idea of immanent critique.
